December 13 (26th year Pasasalamat news update)

Overall in charge of cooking - Letty Bayating assisted by Riverview Water Park cook.  Food budget for estimated 450 persons is P20, 000.  4th Quarter ladies steering committee has submitted 2 menu options.  Adult and children games are under the care of Ruth L. Trinidad and the YP leaders. Take note!  Overall coordinators of clean up job after the Pasasalamat Lunch Fellowship will be Ernie Wagang and Gaspar Baldo, Jr.  In charge of the setting up of parachute (used as shed at the BPFLC playground) are Jojo Ramos; Alan Po, Dante Baddas and Josias Aquino.  Cash or in kind donations for the Pasasalamat are still welcome. - /11-22-2009

Two yp baptized into Christ

Two young ladies accepted Christ in baptism last November 14 (Saturday) here at Midtown church. Those immersed into Christ after completing the “seeker’s lessons” taught by Ruth Trinidad and Amanda Earles were Amber Phoelen R. Po, 13 and Lady Angela B. Ramos, 13. Brother Lemuel L. Glori administered the baptism of the young ladies. Midtown church rejoices with the two new members and prays for their continued spiritual development. - /11-22-2009

2009 visayas evangelistic campaigns yield 211 baptism

Total baptisms in 2009 Eastern Visayas evangelistic campaign (particularly in Negros Oriental) were 211. Brother Santiago (Dodoy) Sameon II, along with the workers over there, spearheaded the summer and 4th quarter evangelistic campaigns– preaching, teaching, lecturing in open fora among others in twelve places including, Banilad, Cebu, Leyte and Negros. The breakdown of the baptisms is as follows: 2009 summer campaign in Negros = 145 baptisms; SLEEC (September 6- 28, 2009) = 45 baptisms; Negros Oriental (October 11 to November 8 = 21 baptisms) for a total of 211. “God be praised for the power of the gospel in turning people back to Him,” echoed the Visayan brethren. - /11-22-2009

17 ladies attend Orr and Howard's lectures

Seventeen ladies from Midtown church attended the November 13 twin lectures of Ruth Orr and Kay Howard, both WBS teachers and coordinators. Ruth Orr talked on the subject “What Is In Thine Hand?” while Kay Howard’s topic was “Is Your Hut Burning?” Midtown church ladies thanked the two American sisters for their excellent and encouraging lectures. - /11-22-2009
